BECOME A FOSTER PARENT
Give a child safety and hope. Change their tears to joy.

In Natrona County nearly all foster care placements involve drug use. Placement in foster care generally involves the removal of a child from a home due to abuse or neglect. This may result from an action taken by the Wyoming Department of Family Services (DFS), local law enforcement, or both. There are more children in need of foster care placement than there are homes available.

What does it take to Become a Foster Parent?

  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • Ability to work with children, DFS caseworkers, and biological parents
  • Ability to work with various social service agencies
  • Attend and complete DFS mandated training
  • Successfully complete a thorough background check
  • Become CPR and First Aid certified
  • Complete a DFS Home Study
